LockNet (the lock) and LockerManager (the software)

LockNet and LockerManager together are Helmsman’s patented keyless networked locking solution.

Following in the footsteps of “LogicLock”  – Helmsman's keyless locker control system mainly for the leisure sector – this new locking system can be used to integrate with existing management software and is operated by a mifare proximity chip.

The individual locks are controlled by the ‘locker manager’ software, which can seamlessly integrate into other applications such as Gladstone MRM using a Microsoft server platform.

The system provides a flexible, easy to operate solution to control a large number of locks. This makes LockNet suitable for schools, workplaces, document control, police evidence, communications and postal boxes, retail and industrial vending.

The software has the innovative ability to generate detailed reports using industry standard ‘crystal key’ report writer. These reports detail individual lock usage, including time and date etc.
The system also has the ability to be integrated into other building and facilities management software thus removing the need for more than one media (card or wristband).

As well as the system enabling access permissions to be granted to individual lockers or groups of lockers via the ‘locker manager’ software, the system provides the opportunity to lock individual or many lockers for search to prevent criminal activity.

The benefits of the system are:

  • Easy control over a large number of locks (‘000s)
  • No keys or padlocks.
  • Easily operated, mimics the function of a key, without the interface with any apparent technology.
  • Control and monitoring of items and storage
  • Networked, flexible and easily constructed and extended.
  • Loss of card or master key card can easily be removed from the system thus preventing major security breach.
  • Access permissions can be granted to individual locks or groups of locks via the “Locker Manager” software.
  • The system can be integrated into other building and facilities management software thus removing the need for more than one media (card).
  • Opportunity to lock down / search individual or many lockers to prevent criminal activity.

Read how a school in London took installation of 1700 lockers which integrated seamlessly with their access control, e-registration and cashless catering system. It allows the school to monitor who is using what locker and in the worst case shut down the locker to allow for removal of banned items.
