Helmsman Now Racks Up Shelving

Bury St Edmunds based locker manufacturer, Helmsman, has extended its portfolio to offer shelving and racking.

Helmsman - who have been owned since January 2008 by Sperrin Metal Products, Northern Ireland - now have the ability to produce and install shelving, mobile shelving, racking, mezzanine floors and pallet racking.

Sperrin Metal have been manufacturing and supplying shelving solutions for over forty years to customers including industrial and commercial manufacturing plants, warehouses, cold stores and libraries.

“The move to shelving was an obvious direction for the company.” explains the Sales Director, Paul Gormley. “We invested in Dexion machinery a few years ago and as we have successfully increased our locker business over the past two years, felt the time was right to extend our range.”

With Sperrin Metal’s additional manufacturing capabilities, Helmsman can now offer racking, cantilever racking, library shelving and mezzanine flooring.
