HELMSMAN SEATING DESIGN TEAM IS ON FIRE

We designed a bespoke shelving and seating solution for the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service Training Centre, based at Wattisham Flying Station.

In its “fire” red colour scheme, the new “all metal” integrated shelving and seating system looks proud and robust in the training centre changing area.

As a regular buyer of lockers from Helmsman, it seemed a logical step for Helmsman to work with the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service to manufacture a bespoke shelving unit. Kevin Hope of the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service adds “We have purchased lockers from Helmsman for several years, I asked if they would be able to make a bespoke PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) storage system at a cost effective price."

Fire-Fighters can easily hang their Fire Kit on the captive hangers and their helmets and equipment on the storage shelves.

Helmsman produce metal lockers and seating on a daily basis, it was a case of redesigning a metal seating unit with the addition of storage space above.

Richard Linton of Helmsman explains “We have the unique ability and tooling equipment to manufacture all types of bespoke metal boxes, seating, lockers and shelving. We really enjoyed designing this product, our design team shined through when met with this challenge.”
